Unit 35- Task 2 planning, scheduling. Production diary

All of us at UFILMS sat down together to plan the schedule for our Oscar's shows as well as deciding who was doing which topic throughout the week, we planned for 1 show everyday, the planning expanded over a few hours as we established everyone's roles and free times to schedule properly.

I chose to work with Thomas B for Controversy because we both bounce off of each other in conversation and we both have a strong interest in controversy and big talking points in big communities so this was perfect for us.

Most of the planning for the Oscars show is in the group production folder.

We also did a ton of research for both pre and post Oscars to decide what big talking points were the most interesting to talk about, controversy would surely increase leading up to the Oscars and we would be ready when it did.



-After we all finished scheduling, Tom and I got to work planning our storyboards for our show with the intention on making it entertaining as well as informative.
















The storyboards were drawn up to give an idea of what the set would look like and how we would progress the show over the course of the amount of time it would take to film.



-We planned our shot lists with only 2 shots because we decided that we wouldn't be moving a lot and that the camera's would remain on the same shot continuously throughout our shows. So during our pre and post Oscar's shows, we will have minimal different camera shots.
















 - Risk assessments for pre and Post production were typed up and printed for our production to ensure safety throughout the production stage of our Oscar's shows.











On the 15th of February we planned and filmed out pre Oscars rundown on the same day, everything went according to plan and nothing went wrong.

 We planned the layout for the post Oscars show on the 23rd of February ahead of the Oscars to make sure we could come in the morning after the real show and get straight to recording the rundowns. We were very tired after staying awake throughout the night but we persisted and got it done. We continued to do research for our post show and already had a bunch to talk about that happened during the official Oscars show (Refer to "Post Oscars Controversy Research (Multicam) Unit 35") on BLOGGER.

Task 2- scriptwriting

1 - Issues.  "Issues" was written to be a fictional sob story short film about a homeless person trying to show his overwhelming kindness while also taking that was formatted correctly with size 12 and "courier" font, however the script was never completed therefore the film was never made. The overall language and dialogue used was intended to make the reader feel sympathetic towards the man. I have not used any brackets in my script therefore I have not included elements of a shooting script (The shooting script is written by the director) however I did use quotation marks which unnecessary in a master script. I have not used any slug lines in this script which is a major detail which is left out and makes it harder for the reader to picture the setting. Post Oscars controversy review Multi camera Unit 35

Tom and I watched the Oscars and decided to take notes on the controversial talking points for our rundown, there was more to discuss controversy wise this time around than the pre Oscars rundown, from Trump, Jussie Smollet, Spike Lee and more.       We did our post rundown without a script and completely improvised, I had started to plan a script but I could not finish it on time to film.            The quality and professionalism would have been an improvement if a script was used. What we did well was that despite being improvised, we did well in switching topics and staying focused our talking points. Referring back to the lack of a script, we had to film the same subject multiple times as we simply forgot what we were going to say or thought of a better thing to say in general.
