Task 2- scriptwriting
1- Issues. "Issues" was written to be a fictional sob story short film about a homeless person trying to show his overwhelming kindness while also taking that was formatted correctly with size 12 and "courier" font, however the script was never completed therefore the film was never made. The overall language and dialogue used was intended to make the reader feel sympathetic towards the man. I have not used any brackets in my script therefore I have not included elements of a shooting script (The shooting script is written by the director) however I did use quotation marks which unnecessary in a master script.
I have not used any slug lines in this script which is a major detail which is left out and makes it harder for the reader to picture the setting.
Most of the script is actions over dialogue because I wanted the film to be visually based around the man and his emotions.
2-Reflections. "Reflections" was written to be a psychological thriller about a man with voices in his head, this is a script that was written and finished but never produced because I helped another person film at the time. In this script I again use quotation marks for dialogue and no slug lines which is a stupid mistake to make when writing a script, the font and size is correct, however the script itself is not put together very well.
3. Unbroken. -"Unbroken is a major step for me in my scriptwriting ability as everything is laid out perfectly and slug lines are included, however unfortunately there are still quotation marks which is a habit I found hard to escape from. The unbroken script is a fan script for a real in production TV series. The script includes everything a script wants including Slug lines, character names
4. The ways of two draft and finished.
My short film script for "the was of two" was my perfect script with 2 drafts before getting the finished product. Each draft was laid out fully with Slug lines, no quotation marks, size 12 font etc. The script started of long but was cut down after a couple drafts, the shorter length allows me to have an equal amount of dialogue and on screen action, the script is my best script to date and I am proud of it, I used amazon storywriter which helped correctly lay out everything I needed in my script from dialogue, actions, slug lines etc.
