Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to you to inform you that after some careful thought and research about the multiple roles that partake in a multi-camera production, I have decided that I would like to apply for the role of "Sound operator" on the Oscars rundown multi-camera assignment. I have previous experience in this role from multiple different projects including some of the Oscars intro filming, as well as our "Bank, camera, action" project.
I am fully aware of the importance of sound in any production and that one simple mistake can ruin everything, however, I am confident in my ability to identify and distinctively pick out sounds that should and should not be included in the assigned project as well as not making any significant mistakes.
I am fully aware of the responsibility's of a sound operator and that I am required to test the audio before and after a shoot and keep the director updated if any unexpected audio is picked up during production, I feel that I can be entrusted to this role as I am vocal and outgoing with colleagues and will point out anything that may go wrong.
I am a confident individual who can listen to others and operate independently if needed, Although I am flexible in multiple jobs/roles, I have chosen Sound Operator because I personally feel that it's a job that doesn't get the appreciation it deserves, Most people think that it's an "easy" or "Lazy" role but it is in fact one of the most important and somebody's got to do it, I'd like that person to be me.
Yours sincerely,
Luke Smith
