Interview evaluation ( Interview techniques )

Preparing the Interview consisted of research on both subjects of the interviewees (Home schooling and Autism). I found I reasonable amount of results which give me an idea about how to approach my interview, I had to tell Ceinen what the questions were in advance to the interview in order to give him a chance to write a response because he finds it difficult to respond to these kind of questions.
Bev and Bailey however didn't have a clue what I would ask so that I could get as natural of a response as possible.
I researched Interview techniques to try and make my interview as believable as possible and to make it come off as a real interview.

During the interview process, I had the cameras constantly rolling in order to capture anything, even when I didn't ask a question, the camera's were rolling just in case the Interviewee said or mentioned something relevant or interesting about the subject, the 3 Interviewees were present at all time, if there was somebody in front of the camera, the others were behind the camera as I needed assistance in working the Camera's because I was also being recorded for the interviews.
There were issues during the interview process because some of the footage from the Interviewer Camera did not save to the SD card, so some of the questions asked in the Documentary do not have footage of me asking the questions.
Ceinen did not want to film B roll of him being taught because he felt uncomfortable, therefore I have photographs of him cooking instead, Bailey was fully open about everything he has experienced in his life from surgery, constant hospital visits, seizures etc.

In the finished product, the interviews are the whole documentary except for the ending where I added footage of Bailey's Make-A-Wish, the interviews are in 2 parts for the 2 different topics of conversation.

The interview was subjective as it was very personal to each interviewee, I asked open questions to each person for the opportunity for them to expand on their answers and explain in further detail what they have been through.

What went wrong
Something that went wrong was the SD card in the camera filming me during the interview, it kept having issues with it which caused the recording to skip segments, therefore it was hard to find the footage of me asking questions, in the interview there are questions asked with me off screen because the footage was lost.

Ceinen struggled to answer the questions asked so we him write down his answers and read off of the paper, however this was not much of an issue, it just meant that his answers didn't look authentic but that's not his fault.
After filming, it was discovered that only 1 of the Microphones had worked during the interview, this made it harder to edit because I had to match the audio to the different footage.
