Production update ( Interview techniques )

Target audience has been planned to primarily be towards parents because the documentary aims to show the benefits of home schooling and allow parents to decide whether or not making the change is worth it.


I have a short list of questions that I want to ask my Friends mother who home schools her 10 year old son and has been doing so for many years because of difficulties with the school he previously attended.
Links for the sources where I found Statistics have been listed on a sheet and a screenshot of messages between the person I am wanting to interview proving that I have permission.


So far, I believe I have 20-27 points.


I have asked my friends mum if she would be fine with being interviewed because she home schooled her youngest son and I would like to ask her questions about why she home schooled and whether it was a positive thing.
I have been to their home many times and It would be interesting to find out how difficult it was to home school in their conditions because their home is quite small and cramped so I would like to find out how they worked around these issues and managed to teach to a suitable extent.


I still need to ask for permission to interview her youngest son to find out how home schooling has affected him and how it feels to not go to public school, meet new people and make friends like an everyday kid would, how would this affect his future?






January 25th- Interviews and recording done and dusted, just need to edit it all together, hopefully I didn't miss anything important.


February 4th- Editing finished and final product ready to view, paperwork still needs to be organised and put in to a folder.

Post Oscars controversy review Multi camera Unit 35

Tom and I watched the Oscars and decided to take notes on the controversial talking points for our rundown, there was more to discuss controversy wise this time around than the pre Oscars rundown, from Trump, Jussie Smollet, Spike Lee and more.       We did our post rundown without a script and completely improvised, I had started to plan a script but I could not finish it on time to film.            The quality and professionalism would have been an improvement if a script was used. What we did well was that despite being improvised, we did well in switching topics and staying focused our talking points. Referring back to the lack of a script, we had to film the same subject multiple times as we simply forgot what we were going to say or thought of a better thing to say in general. Humanity evaluation

  Since Humanity was a short contingency plan, I think it turned out pretty good for what it was, however I wish I would have pushed forward with my original idea. Overall, my only gripe with “Humanity” is how fast and short it was, I feel like I could have written something more length. Thing’s that I’m happy with is how well I managed to put it together in post, the echoes, heartbeats, mask flashes etc are a huge part of the film and I’m satisfied with the turnout. My camera work in the film could have been much better, especially with the 180 degree rotate shot around Thomas, I wish I would have just settled for a panning shot from the side instead.
