Script writing 3 act structure & short film idea.
Act 1- Set up for the plot
Introduce Cameron who is the childhood friend to both of them, he constantly tries to help them bond without any success. Cameron wears glasses and is very confident and forward.
Adam and Stephanie usually avoid each other as much as possible in public.
They both wear average clothing, Adam always wears a beanie.
Adam always blames everything on Stephanie and pranks her regularly.
They have another argument because Adam pranks Stephanie.
Adam decides he has had enough of this childish rivalry phase and asks Cameron to help them become closer.
Stephanie mishears the conversation after Eavesdropping and disappears.
Act 2- Problem
Their Mother phones Adam asking if he has seen Stephanie because she has been gone for hours, he hasn't and continues walking home after going to a party, he gets another phone call from an unknown number which he ignores, he answers after the third call to which he is greeted by a voice which he doesn't recognise. The voice begins taunting him about Stephanie and reveals that he has taken her but he doesn't reveal his reasons why.
Adam leaves their mother a voice mail about what happened, she doesn't pick up because she works late hours almost everyday, Adam tries to call the police but before he can dial, the unknown number phones again and tells Adam not to call the police if he cares for Stephanie's well being.
Adam asks Cameron if he has heard anything about Stephanie and tells him that he hasn't seen her since a few days ago.
Adam receives a call from the unknown number again but when he answers, he hears Stephanie's voice , he panics and begins asking her questions about her well being and where she is. Stephanie reveals that she remembers seeing Cameron right before she was taken, he remembers what he said and confronts him for lying, Cameron denies the accusations but Adam locks him in a room and interrogates Cameron to the point of forced confession even though he is innocent. Before Cameron can confess anything however, a cloaked person bursts in and knocks Adam out.
Act 3- Resolution
Adam wakes up 5 hours later to find Cameron has also gone missing and a voice mail from the unknown number which gives Adam a location and a time, he goes there hesitantly to find the cloaked person again who reveals themselves as Stephanie and reveals Cameron along side her.
They unravel their plan which was all put in to place to show Adam how much he really cares about Stephanie, he accuses Stephanie of being insane to which she laughs manically and explains how Adam doesn't know what insane is until he has put up with the torment that she has been through over the years, Adam has a realisation and apologises for his actions, Cameron has a small celebration. Adam gets another phone call from his mother, when he answers he hears the same unknown voice, he is stunned and looks at Stephanie. Cut to black. Has he been chasing two different people the whole time?
